Howard Harrison Industry Personality- Passed away at Sixty Six
Forest Hills NY
I am very sad to convey the news that industry friend, reporter, photojournalist, industry watch dog, philanthropist and all around good guy Howard Harrison- passed away in Forrest Hills, New York of a massive heart attack on Monday December 7, 2009.
Howard is survived by his mother and father Bertram and Florence Harrison, and his brother and sister, Robert and Lynn Harrison. We wish to express our deepest condolences to his entire family. The NSLA has commissioned a tree to be planted in his honor in Israel. He will be sorely missed by all.
As an honorary member of this association- Howard constantly supplied us with industry news and information ready to be published on this website. He also created the projected electronic file for our bi-monthly general meetings. His photography graces our board of directors’ page, as well as many other publications. The NSLA owes Howard a debt of gratitude.
As an industry watch dog for over thirty five years, he attended and reported on NYCTLC meetings, industry talk on the street, and kept his finger on the pulse of the many blogs that are floating around. Earlier he was involved with the Black Car News and other publications. His goal was to always, “Keep it fresh”.
His community service extends to The National Police Defense Foundation, New York Talk webzine at www.newyorktalk.net and various other interests.
It will be very difficult for another New Yorker to fill our friend Howard’s shoes.
